Success

Thanks to all who showed up last night and made the evening such a lovely one. Thanks to all who RSVP'd, whether or not you showed up. Shame on those who think that RSVPs are old-fashioned and unnecessary in these modern days; you will not be invited again. I have Standards.

Topics of conversation: Discipline and Commitment, Drawing, Process, Maker-Thinkers, Art Blogs, Anonymity, Cheese, Marinara Sauce, Good Wine. Among other things.

Cheers! The next one is tentatively scheduled for mid-September.

P.S. My phone is back on. Commence calling at (718)768-3236, since my cell phone is nearly out of minutes.

Excuses are not acceptable, but I will at least explain that my usual politeness was overcome by a fit of petulance at being too many thousands of miles away to be considered a serious invitation.

:(

I am delighted and not surprised that a fine time was had by all, and fully expect to see the face of the New York art scene transformed forthwith.

Shamefacedly,

Your Desert Friend

Dandy, I completely understand, and indeed I had assumed you were on vacation and thus incommunicado. Your invitation is still open, any time you are in the city.

Also, check out Chris's review. It almost gives you the flavor of being there.

Yes do, JD, CHris really used poetry to reinvent an evening in real time. You will enjoy. YOu can also invent a way to be there next time, even if not in bodily form.

I'm working on that already...
